Hvalsey Church ruins

After an hour's sailing through the fjord with a view to the green hillsides
are Hvalsø church ruins. The church is the best preserved building from
the Norse period and dates back to the 1300s. Close by the church ruin is
also a large farm with houses, stables and storehouses, and a report on
a wedding here in 1408 is the last written record of Norsemen in Greenland.
